John F. “J.L.” Laskowski, age 76, of Mountain Top, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, December 13, 2012, at the Hospice Community Care, Geisinger, South Wilkes Barre. Born November 9, 1936 in Larksville, he was the son of the late Charles and Stella Muchichko.

He was a graduate of Larksville High School, Class of 1954 and a member of St. Jude’s Church of Mountain Top.

In 1954, John joined the United States Air Force, served during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He was also stationed in the United States, the Arctic Circle and the Far East, with 2 Tours in Japan and in Vietnam. He retired honorably from the Air Force after 20 years of service.

Prior to his retirement, he was a manager in numerous Burger King’s, throughout the Wyoming Valley.

Throughout his life, John enjoyed spending time with his family, and had a special fondness for his pet dog and companion, “Buddy”.

Surviving are his loving wife of 55 years, the former, Theresa Polifka; children, John D. Laskowski and his wife, Kathy of Larksville, and Linda Moran and her husband, Joseph of Larksville; 4 grandchildren, Jennifer and Katelyn Laskowski, Joseph and Katie Moran; brother, Charles Muchichko and his wife, Mary Lou of Towanda; numerous nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to meet for Mass of Christian Burial on Monday morning at 9:30 at St. Jude’s Church, 420 South Mountain Boulevard, Mountain Top. Entombment will follow in St. Mary’s Mausoleum, Hanover Township.

Family and friends are invited to call on Sunday evening, from 4:00 to 7:00, at the S.J.Grontkowski Funeral Home, 530 West Main Street, Plymouth.
