George Lombardo, age 46, of Duryea, passed away at home on November 27, 2025. George was born on February 13, 1979 and was raised in Duryea. He attended Pittston Area High School.
George spent his career working as maintenance at Pocono Downs, and then Mohegan Sun Casino. Later on he practiced as an independent electrician.
All those who knew George knew his charismatic personality. He was always dancing, singing, and making people smile. George had a way of making everybody feel loved.
George had a deep love for live music and spent years following the band Phish up and down the East Coast. Some of his happiest memories were made camping in his younger years with his older brother, Joe, and their close circle of friends. He found joy in cooking and sharing meals with those he cared about, and he was a devoted guitar player who cherished the time he spent making music.
George is survived by his mother, Carmella, and her husband, Stanley Browski; father, George Shannon and his fiancé, Donna; brother Joseph and his wife, Christine, and their children Leana, Carissa, Ellie, and Hope. George is also survived by his long time best friend and kindred spirit, Melissa, and his devoted and loving pup, Freyja
Funeral service will be held on Friday at 2:45 p.m. at the S. J. Grontkowski Funeral Home, 530 W. Main St., Plymouth.
Family and friends may call from 1 p.m. until service time at the S.J. Grontkowski Funeral Home, 530 West Main Street, Plymouth.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made in George’s name to Blue Chip animal shelter.
