Geraldine (Gerry) Adamchak, age 97, of Hanover Twp., passed away Sunday, June 29, 2025 at Edenbrook at Hampton House.

Born January 30, 1928 in Breslau Section of Hanover Twp., she was the daughter of the late Nicholas Salonski and Julia Fisher Salonski. Gerry was a graduate of Hanover High School and was a former member of S.S. Peter & Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, Plymouth. She was a current member of Transfiguration of Our Lord Ukrainian Catholic Church, Hanover Section of Nanticoke, where she was a member of the Church Sodality and choir. She was active in many church functions and programs over the years. 

Prior to her retirement, Gerry was employed by Rifkin Company, Hanover Twp. She was a member of the Wyoming Valley Country Club and was a starter for over 40 years. Gerry was a volunteer at the Hampton House, Hanover Twp., for many years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Adamchak, who passed away in 2005; and her brother, George Salonski Sr.

Surviving are her niece, Julie Dzurilla and her husband, Rick; great niece, Elizabeth (Ellie) Dzurilla; great nephew, James Dzurilla and his wife, Devynn; nephew, George Salonski; sister-in-law, Ellie Adamchak; niece, Norma Jean Fisher Consiglio and her family; dear friends, Jane and Frank Rinkevich; aides and dear friends, Cheryl Condo and Sally Simko; and many dear friends at Lee Park Towers.

Family and friends are invited to meet for Divine Liturgy on Monday, July 7, at 10 a.m. Transfiguration of Our Lord Ukrainian Catholic Church, Hanover Section of Nanticoke, with Rev. Fr. Walter Pasicznyk, pastor officiating. Interment will be in the Parish Cemetery, Nanticoke.

Friends may call on Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at the S.J. Grontkowski Funeral Home, 530 West Main Street, Plymouth. Parastas will be at 4 p.m. at the funeral home.

Gerry’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses and staff at Edenbrook at Hampton House, Bayada Home Health, The Luzerne County Agency on Aging and The UPMC Coordinator, Stephanie Herne, for their care and compassion.
