Anne H. (Chervenitski) Kotch (Anna, Annie), beloved wife and amazing mom, passed away peacefully on June 28, 2025 at home with her family. She showed others how to be a happy and considerate person through the actions in her life.
She leaves behind and will be greatly missed by her husband, Joseph, with whom she celebrated 63 years of marriage on June 23, as well as, her daughters, Joanne Beemiller (Jeff), Easton, MD and Linda Carey (Bob), Buttonwood and Indian Lake, PA. In addition, she will be remembered by her nieces and their husbands, great nieces and nephews, many close cousins, very special friends, her caregiver, Tandem, and her beloved cat, Cali.
She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Burnat) Chervenitski from Plymouth. She graduated from Plymouth High School in 1958 and Wilkes-Barre General Hospital School of Nursing. Her career of more than 40 years as a Registered Nurse at the General Hospital exemplified her kind and caring personality.
She will be remembered as a sociable person. As a member of Exaltation of the Holy Cross Church, Buttonwood, she enjoyed helping with many activities and singing in the choir. She was also a member of the WBGH School of Nursing Alumni. She demonstrated how important affection to others is by caring for numerous family members, friends, and neighbors throughout her life. She directed a children's choir at St. Casimir's Church and was a co-leader of a Girl Scout troop. She showed her selflessness by volunteering at the Catherine McAuley House, the Mercy Hospital gift shop, and the SPCA. She enjoyed traveling with her family and friends, including wine bus trips. She also enjoyed cooking and baking, and had a special talent of using leftovers creatively in new meals.
She was preceded in death by her parents, father-in-law, mother-in-law, brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, cousins, and many close friends.
She will be fondly remembered for her "Yoo Hoo" greeting. She wanted to say to all who knew her, "Thank You for Being a Friend."
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff from Traditional Hospice, as well as the doctors and nurses who provided care to her.
