Ann Louise Benginia Wold, 75, of Scranton, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 7, 2025 at the Lakewood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Nanticoke, while under the special care of Hospice of the Sacred Heart and her loving family. Ann fought a courageous battle with Multiple Sclerosis since the young age of 17.
Born July 25, 1949 in Scranton, Ann was the daughter of the late Louis Benginia and Mary Pacini Benginia. Ann was a graduate of Scranton Central High School, Class of 1967, and was a member of St. Paul’s Roman Catholic Church, Scranton.
Ann loved to talk, listen, tell stories, and reminisce. She always loved spending time with her family, indulging in their favorite Italian foods and baking delicious desserts. She loved the beach and ocean. She loved reading romance novels and thrillers. Ann was an avid crafter and loved making beautiful wreaths, dolls and other things for her family. She loved fashion, jewelry, and never missed an appointment at the beauty salon.
Surviving are her daughter, Lindsay A. Wold and her fiance, Michael Ferguson, of Scranton; sisters, Nancy Salerno (Peter), of Scranton, and Lois Panunzio (Ron), of Dallas; nieces, Gia Salerno (Jose Gonzalez), Anna Salerno, Melissa Alunni (John), and Courtney Panunzio (Diana); and great nieces and nephews, Jovie Alunni, Nico Alunni, Payton Panunzio, and Rita Panunzio.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday April 12, 2025 at 10 a.m. in St. Paul’s Roman Catholic Church, Scranton.
