Marie Rasimovicz Robine, age 79, of Larksville, passed into the hands of the Lord on Friday, February 7, 2025.
Born December 29, 1945 in Larksville, she was the daughter of the late Alexander Rasimovicz and Mary Orseck Rasimovicz.
Marie was a graduate of Lake Lehman High School and the Mercy Hospital School of Nursing, Wilkes Barre. She received a Bachelor of Science Degree from College Misericordia and a Master’s Degree in Science along with a Masters Degree in Nursing from the University of Scranton. Marie was pursuing a Doctorate Degree in Nursing from Penn State University.
Marie was a devoted member of St. John the Baptist Church, Larksville where she was a Eucharistic Minister and a CCD Teacher. Along with her husband Bob, she always looked forward to First Friday visits with many of the homebound church parishioners. Marie was extremely involved with all of the parish activities, especially the annual bazaar and pierogie making. Prior to her retirement, she was employed at Luzerne County Community College as a Professor of Nursing. In past years, Marie volunteered as a nurse at St. Stephen’s Episcopal church, Wilkes Barre. She was always by her husband Robert Robine’s side during all of his political endeavors in Larksville.
Marie enjoyed working in her yard and her visits to the casino. In her earlier years, she loved to travel with her husband Bob.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Robert J. Robine who passed away on May 21, 2020.
Surviving are her step daughter, Suzanne Faupel (Scott), New York, step granddaughter, Bridgette, sister, Romaine Markiewicz, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 14, 2025 at St. John the Baptist Church, Larksville. Visitation will be Friday from 10 a.m. until mass time at the church.
Private entombment will be in St. Mary’s Mausoleum, Hanover Twp.
Arrangements are entrusted to the S.J. Grontkowski Funeral Home, Plymouth.
Marie’s family would especially like to thank Toni and Skip Shrawder, Frank and Sandy Josephs, the nurses and staff from Compassionate Care Hospice and the nurses and staff at the Meadows Skilled Nursing Center, Dallas, for their care and compassion the past few months.
