Eleanor Basta, Age 98, of Plymouth, passed into the Hands of the Lord, on Saturday, January 11, 2025 at the Meadows Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Dallas.
Born April 19, 1926 in Larksville, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Dominica Lepkoski Terkoski. Eleanor was a graduate of Plymouth High School, Class of 1944, and was a member of All Saints Parish, Plymouth.
She was employed by Franklin’s Commisary for almost 20 years. Starting at Elby’s Big Boy in 1966 and continuing there when the restaurant transitioned to Franklin’s Restaurant. She retired from Franklin’s in 1983.
Eleanor loved playing bingo and enjoyed taking summer trips and shopping trips with her daughter, Judy.
She was preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by her husband, Joseph Basta in 2011; son, Joseph Basta; great granddaughter, Josie; daughter-in-law, Diane Basta; sisters, Verna Zona, Marie Heelan and Genevieve Gregus; and brothers, Joseph Terkoski, Edmund Terkoski and Frank Terkoski.
Surviving are her loving children, Reverend Thomas Basta and his wife, Carol, of Hanover Twp., and Judy Lukatchik and her husband, Michael, of Larksville; grandchildren, Michael Lukatchik (Jessica), Kevin Lukatchik, Joseph Basta (Marge), Holly Devenney (Michael), Jennifer Merrill (Rob) and Angela Giambra (Nick). She is also survived by her great grandchildren, Emma Lukatchik, Christopher Giambra, Conor Giambra, Gwen Devenney, Michael Devenney and Tim Basta; and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to meet on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at All Saints Parish, Plymouth for Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be at St. Mary’s Nativity Cemetery, Plymouth Twp.
Family and friends may call on Wednesday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the S. J. Grontkowski Funeral Home, 530 West Main Street, Plymouth.
In lieu of flowers, contributions, if desired, may be made to the Activities Department at the Meadows Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Dallas.
