Edward M. Kozik, age 75, of Plymouth Twp., passed into the Hands of the Lord unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 24, 2024.

Born May 7, 1949 in Plymouth, he was the son of the late Martin Kozik and Irene Antonik Kozik. Ed attended St. Mary’s Parocial School and he was a graduate of Wyoming Valley West High School, Class of 1967.

Ed was a veteran serving with the Unites States Air Force during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged as a Staff Sergeant. He was awarded the Presidential Unit Citation in Thailand and received a commendation medal for distinguished service.

He was a member of the V.F.W. Tobyhanna Post. Prior to his retirement, Ed was employed at the Tobyhanna Army Depot for 30 years.

Ed was an avid Penn State fan and attended many games throughout the years. He loved to travel and visited 49 states, all states with an exception of Alaska. His special destination was St. Martin and he planned a future trip with his family. Ed enjoyed spending time with his family. His four grandsons were the lights of his life and he was so proud of them.

Surviving are his loving wife of 46 years, the former Diane Jones; daughter, Heather Jabyac and her husband, Bill, and grandson, Mason, of Larksville; son, Michael Kozik and his wife, Christine, and grandsons, Nathan, Levi and Cooper, of Plymouth Twp.; sister, Barbara Slaski, of Larksville; and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to meet for Mass of Christian Burial at St. Ignatius Church, Kingston, at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, December 31, 2024. Interment will be in Chapel Lawn Cemetery, Dallas.

Family and friends may call on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the S.J. Grontkowski Funeral Home, 530 West Main Street, Plymouth.

In lieu of flowers, contributions, may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
