John A. McDaniels, age 42, of Plymouth, passed away peacefully and surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, November 21, 2024.
Born July 7, 1982 in Plymouth, he was the son of John L. McDaniels and the late Carol Barron McDaniels.
John attended Wyoming Valley West High School and was a member of All Saints Parish, Plymouth. He was employed by Matt Henry Garage as an auto body technician.
He was a very hard worker, loved to work with his hands and loved working on cars. John took a lot a pride in everything he did, especially when it came it to his son, J.J. He loved listening to music, especially rap and country music. In past years, he played mini football and baseball.
John always helped anyone in need as long as he was able to. He had a very good heart.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his fiancee, Stephanie Latosek, who passed away in 2020.
In addition to his father, he is survived by his son, John “J.J.” McDaniels; sister, Christine McDaniels, of Plymouth; nephew, Charles Degavage; maternal grandmother, Dorothy Cramer, of Scranton; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.
Family and friends are invited to attend Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday at 10 a.m. at All Saints Parish, Plymouth. Private interment will be in St. Vincent’s Cemetery, Larksville.
Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday from 9 a.m.until mass time at All Saints Parish, Plymouth.
Arrangements are entrusted to the S.J. Grontkowski Funeral Home, 530 West Main Street, Plymouth.
John’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff of the ICU at the Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center for their care and compassion.
