Fred G. Harpersberger, age 91, of Wilkes Barre, passed away on Monday, November 18, 2024 at his home.
Born March 22, 1933 in Wilkes Barre, he was the son of the late Fred Harpersberger and Anna Ulitchney Harpersberger. He was a graduate of Coughlin High School, Class of 1951. Following high school, he was drafted into The United States Navy and served in the Coral Sea Ship as an armament mechanic. Fred received education in the field of aircraft munitions.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed by Acme Bakery in Wilkes Barre and as a setup mechanic at Techneglas, formerly Owens-Illinois.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Anne Harpersberger, who passed away on August 21, 1995.
Surviving are his children, Mark Harpersberger, and his companion, Robin Mallarkey, with whom he resided in Wilkes Barre, Mary Conley and her husband, Brett, of Ohio, and Scott Harpersberger, and his wife, Lori, of Dallas; 7 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren.
Throughout his life, Fred loved watching old movies and serial westerns, especially Gun Smoke. He greatly enjoyed listening to music. He loved artwork, especially doodling and drawing. Fred loved doing magic trick and photography. He was a World War II buff, enjoying World War II movies and learning new facts.
A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Nicholas Church, Wilkes Barre.
Private interment will be held at Chapel Lawn Cemetery, Dallas.
