Philip Bonczewski, age 63, of Plymouth, passed away on Monday, November 11, 2024, at his home.
Born July 1, 1961 in Larksville, he was the son of the late Philip Bonczewski and Barbara Nice Bonczewski. Philip was a graduate of Wyoming Valley West High School, Class of 1979. In past years, he had been employed by the Mericle Construction Company specializing in heating and air conditioning installations. Prior to that, he was employed by local finance companies.
Philip’s family meant everything to him. He loved family gatherings especially spending time with his grandchildren and his pet dogs, Marley and Brutus. He also enjoyed motorcycling, quading and camping.
In addition to his parents, Philip was preceded in death by his brother, Joseph Bonczewski.
Surviving are his loving wife of 10 years, Barbara Bavitz Bonczewski; children, Philip Bonczewski III (Melissa), Wyoming, Pa., Jeffrey Bonczewski (Jordan), Colorado, Lisa Mustacchino (Chris), Avoca, Cory Bonczewski (Milena), Hazleton and Katlyn Nicole Bavitz, Scranton; grandchildren, Misty, Jayson, Audrey, Sebastian, Jaxon and Malcom; sister, Amy Bonczewski (Brenda), Larksville; brother, Michael Bonczewski (Ellen), Harding; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Private interment will take place at St. Vincent’s Cemetery, Larksville.
Philip’s family would like to thank Dr. David W. Greenwald and his staff, especially Angela, Dr. Richard Grossman, the nurses and staff of Allied Home Hospice, Dr. Horavick and staff, and the Infusion Department at the General Hospital for their care and compassion.
