Irene Frisbie, age 91, of Plymouth, passed away peacefully on August 14, 2024 Fritzingertown Senior Living Center, Drums.
Born May 16, 1933 in Plymouth, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Dempsey and Anna Oshirak Dempsey. She was a graduate of Plymouth High School, Class of 1951, and was a lifelong member of S.S. Peter & Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, Plymouth.
Irene was a member of the Ladies Club of the Parish and had been very active with church functions and activities over the years. She had been employed by the Wyoming Valley Garment Industry and was a member of the ILGWU.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Frisbie Sr.; son-in-law, John P. Finley; grandson, John P. Finley Jr.; brother, Frank Dempsey; and sister, Eliza Burke.
Surviving are her loving children, Ann Finley, Carol Abele and her husband, Michael, and Leonard Frisbie Jr. and his wife, Traci; grandson, Leonard Frisbie III; granddaughter, Katherine Abele; brother, Joseph Dempsey; sisters, Anna Magil, Carol Dempsey and Barbara Powell; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held on Monday with Parastas Service at 10:15 a.m. at the S.J. Grontkowski Funeral Home, 530 West Main Street, Plymouth, follow by Divine Liturgy at 11 a.m. in S.S. Peter & Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, Plymouth. Interment will be in the Parish Cemetery, Plymouth Twp.
